When was the last time you seen Vott's like this ???

These Vott's sold in Japan in July of '06 the second pair sold in April of '07 and they both sold for almost 3 mil. yen which translates to about $31,200. All the American made stuff sells for extremely high prices. These "Beautes" sold for 1 million yen more than a current pair of A-4's they have listed for 2 million yen/ $21,000 But these feild coils are quite rare but seem to pop-up in Japan every couple years or so.So that's where all our Beautiful Altec gear has gone Asia,Japan,etc.... Regards !!!

    Hi Leland,

They are if you look at the woofers they are 415's made by Lansing Mfg.Co. which dates to 1940-41 before Altec and the HF feild coils are Altec Lansing Corporation also very early Altec's so these have to be examples of right around the time that Lansing Mfg. and All Technical merged to form Altec Lansing unless someone mounted these early drivers in later cabinets but they look original.

I suspect the changeover from "Lansing" to "Altec Lansing" was not instantaneous...I mean why scrap a hundred perfectly good nameplates? Especially during the shortages of WWII?

Though I do feel safe in dating the stuff within a few years, I wouldn't guarantee the woofers are from before the merger.
Your neighbors called. They like your music.

    HI OG,

What I should have said was that Lansing Mfg. ended it's run around 1940-41 and merged with All Technical to become Altec Lansing. The woofers could have been made around then or right after as you said within a few years before or after. Thanks for correction !!

I bet if you crank em up, the cones will turn to dust.
Just like anything rare, give em to the guy with cash.
Can't restore these like a car.
